Beasts of Burdin Volume 1 Alexander Nader Books
Loved this book so much. Another in a very satisfying recent run of indie books that is bringing my faith in books back to life.Ty Burdin is a great anti-hero without being a cliche. His humor is exactly my style. His ultimate motivation for leaving the mysterious Agency blew me away--I was seriously not expecting that. It's so great to see an author embracing a more personal motovation, I've been growing weary of the bland "it's the right thing to do" motivations that are so prevalent lately.
The side character were just as great as Ty. Nora was a particular favorite, but Hartnet and the bartender were also great. Hell, even Diaz and The Agency's various members were well-written and interesting.
Putting aside the characterization, which I could seriously rave about all day, the action was PERFECT. Fast-paced without being whiplash-inducing. The twists and turns were unexpected but sensical, which really does speak volumes for Nader's ability.
One final note: my spouse is NOT a reader. Not even a little. He doesn't care for it, and he has dyslexia to struggle with. While I was reading Burdin, I laughed so often that he got curious, and took it from me. I had to wrestle it away to finish it, and I had to give it back the second I finished it.
We will have to buy two copies of the sequel, or else risk some major bruises in the fight over that one.

Beasts of Burdin Volume 1 Alexander Nader Books Reviews
Beasts of Burdin was action packed and funny. Once I started reading I was hooked and went along for the ride.
I loved this book! It was short, but worth the time and money. It boils down to a great story, interesting characters, and smart dialogue. For me, it felt like Beasts of Burdin was just the tip of the iceberg-I finished the book wanting to hear more! Can't wait for Ty's next adventure!
I bought this not sure what to expect since it's so different from what I normally read, I was hooked after the first chapter & couldn't wait to read the rest. I give this 5 stars, this young author knows what this generation wants to read.
Seriously one of the best reads I've picked up in a very long time. Missing Jim Butcher? Grab up this series, its simply great!!
This book is absolutely flooring. It is difficult to choose my favorite element of this book. Ty Burdin, our protagonist, is amazingly crafted as a multi-faceted, troubled anti-hero, who just so happens to have serious demon hunting abilities (and some equally serious drinking issues). The demons of the book (who aren't always played as antagonists) are all each incredibly defined and each have distinct characteristics, some likable, others deplorable (Mephisto the bartender is a personal favorite). The scenarios are described with intensive clarity, yet the pacing remains brisk. Nader's writing style is immediately immersive and unforgettable. This book is a must-own, and a testament to the brilliance and vivacity of the book publishing underground today.
Alexander Nader delivers a swift, round-house kick to the head right from the start. The action just does not stop. I have no fingernails left. Though this book is a complete knockout on its own, I definitely see more misadventures in Ty Burdin's future. I can't help but look for a bit of romance in everything I read, and Nader teases with the possibility. It's just enough to satisfy the girly part of me, but this book isn't a mushy, sappy romance. Beasts of Burdin is the very definition of action packed adventure, with a dark soul and teasing, rough-edged wit.
I like Alex Nader's easy writing style. Every writer speaks/writes in their own language, it's easy for the reader to slip into the cadence of this story. A mash-up of of horror and classic noir detective stories, Ty Burdin is a likable protagonist despite the fact of him being completely obnoxious to his closest friends and family. Oh wait, Ty Burdin is actually kind of obnoxious to everyone, in fairness. But still, you like the guy. I won't burden (!) you with a synopsis, here's what you need to know.
What I loved Fun, fresh story told seamlessly. Lots of great banter between the main characters. A lively plot with no plodding bits or downtime.
What I want more of Description. I wanted to know more about Nora, the gal Friday, and about east Tennessee in general.
What I hated The title gave me an earworm of that Rolling Stones song. I dislike that song intensely. Not Alex Nader's fault, it's a me thing.
